The Easier Way
By using the Hamster Name Generator, powered by CAHN (Computer-Assisted Hamster Naming) technology! You can get a nice hamster name by pressing a button. If the name doesn't match your hamster's gender or you don't like it, go back and press the button again.
The Other Option
Go through the hamster names list and manually pick one. Some of the hamster name is too weird, such as:

Some Tips
- Don't change your hamster's name! Your hamster might be confused and it won't respond to your calling. Your hamster learns its first name the best, with some training.
- Don't name your hamster something that only suits a baby hamster because its name might not suit it anymore when it has grown and you don't want to change its name!

ReplyDeleteI got my hamster as a baby (5 weeks old). I was flicking through a country music magazine and saw the name Darren Buzby, a country music singer. I called my baby hamster Buzby. She is now 7 months old. I dont whether she is male or female but the name suits both. I hope this gives other people idead on what to name their hamster.

I had A hamster before him and I named him Zippie.
You can take Zippie but Dont take Ying And Yang
I also think that Cupcake, Tootsie-roll, Hugs and Kisses are good names for girl hamsters.
My hammie's name is Minou. It's pronouced me-no. It's a popular french name for cats. lol. Some other popular cute french names are Fifi, Mimi,Chouchou, Avril(April), Iris, Kiwi, Polka, Yogi, and Zimbo. On the website www.pet-net-.net/pet-names/fench-names.html there's a TON more.

My hamster is called Fat Louis... but i just call him Louis ( it's pronounced Looie - i think ) well he is a syrian hamster in beige and white there is also a little bit of black on him. Before i got Louis (last February) i had a Gerbil called Dino ... Later on i found out Dino was a girl... Either before or after i had Dino i had a Hamster called Wilma. Hi I just got a russian campbell dwarf hamster (I think) and i named him Domino. He is soo friendly and cute! We had to wake him up at the pet store and he didn't even bite! I love him so much.

ReplyDeleteI just bought a tiny gray and white dwarf hamster today and stumbled across the site looking for a name. She also likes to go kind of fast ( I've never had a dwarf before) But I put her in my bathtub so she would have plenty of room to scamper. She seemed to really have a good time. I put in her wheel and a house. I bought a little playpen at our local flea market. It has no top but they can't get out. Theres plenty of room and you can watch them really easy. I also bought several size cages made from different material at the flea market. The supplies are much cheaper there. Guess I'll try to hurry and pick a name so I can email my family. My 8 year old gerbil just died and my fluffy hamster also. They are on Webshots!!

I got a russian dwarf hamster & called him Joey.. Hes such a pet :) Then to help out a friend, I took one of her russian dwarfs because it was being attacked by her other hamsters & mine got on so well with it. I believed it was a boy & was delighted when both boys got on so well :S Was I wrong!? I came home from holidays to find 8 babies!! I took poor Joey out & put him in a different cage.
